The DMC is a great place to have a field trip. Marine Biology and ecology classes can explore nearby habitats at low tide and bring collected specimens back to the Center for close observation and experimentation. Our flowing seawater classrooms seat 15- 30 students comfortably with microscopes and notebooks. Ambient flowing seawater keeps collected specimens alive for study. MCL Classroom
Located in the Marine Culture Laboratory (MCL), this is our newest and largest flowing seawater classroom. The MCL classroom seats 30 students. It has a fume hood, chemical prep area, wireless internet access, compound and dissecting microscopes and video-equipped teaching microscopes. A/V equipment includes: LCD, slide and overhead projectors. Also pictured above.
Mitchell Classroom
The Mitchell Classroom is appropriate for smaller groups, comfortably seating up to 15 students. It has a fume hood, chemical prep area, wireless internet access, compound and dissecting microscopes and video-equipped teaching microscopes. A/V equipment includes: slide and overhead projectors.
Horse Barn Classroom
The Horse Barn Classroom is . It is the perfect size for lectures, seminars and small group discussions. Renovated in 2006, the Horse Barn Classroom is equipped with a Polycom system for video conferencing.
